Passed away on December 26, 2006.
Febrero 23, 2008

Maureen Mary McGee, born December 9, 1959 in  Grand Rapids, Michigan, died December 26, 2006, at an airport near Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Maureen, as pilot, and flight nurse Diane Efaw, died doing their jobs; they were on their way to an airport in New Jersey to pick up a patient.

Maureen was born to William and Marie McGee on December 9, 1959, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She moved to Livonia at the age of 5, and graduated from Michigan State University in 1983.  Maureen has four brothers, Michael (Mary Fisher), Kev (Kathleen), Tim (Jackie), and Pat and many nieces and nephews. Her Dad passed away when she was 18 years old and her Mom passed away in May of 1990.

Maureen McGee and I, Peg Gordon(Caton) were partners from December 1986 until August of 1991, one month after my Mom's death. We had two cats Anamay and Kashmere Kitty. She took Anamay and I took Kashmere Kitty. Kashmere passed away on December 4, 2007.

In 1991, Maureen took employment as a technical writer at Arbortext, Inc., in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she met Gary Grosso. In 1993 Maureen married Gary, and became stepmother to Gary’s two children from a previous marriage, Joseph and Brian Grosso. In 1996, Maureen and Gary had a daughter, Ammelin Grosso. In 1998, Maureen began training as a pilot.  She went on to get the following licenses and ratings: Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).  In July of 2005, Maureen took a twin-engine air cargo job in Charleston, West Virginia, Gary and Ammelin moving there with her.  In September 2006, Maureen took a new job in Morgantown, West Virginia, which was primarily air ambulance work, flying the slightly larger 400 series Cessna twin-engine airplanes.  In October, Maureen, Gary, and Ammelin settled in nearby Masontown, West Virginia.
